The editing window is the global time period after checkout during which customers can edit or cancel their order. Once the window closes, editing options disappear from your storefront for that order.
During the window, Editr applies an order hold to prevent the order from progressing to fulfillment before the customer has a chance to make changes.
Duration options
| Option | Notes |
|---|
| 15 minutes | |
| 30 minutes | Recommended |
| 60 minutes | |
| Custom duration | Enter any value in minutes, hours, or days |
30 minutes is the recommended default. It’s long enough for most customers to spot and correct a mistake, but short enough that your fulfillment workflow isn’t meaningfully delayed.
Set the editing window
Open Editr settings
From the Editr app, go to Settings.
Find the Editing window section
Scroll to the Editing window section.
Select a duration
Choose one of the preset options, or select Custom duration and enter a
value and unit.
How the order hold works
When an order is placed, Editr applies a hold that prevents it from entering your fulfillment workflow until the editing window closes.
Orders won’t show as ready to fulfill immediately after checkout. This is expected behavior.
