Restrictions prevent customers from editing orders that match conditions you define. Use them to protect orders that shouldn’t be changed, for example orders with a given tag, or orders shipping to high-risk countries. Restrictions are stacked so if an order matches any restriction, editing is blocked for that order. All restrictions are configured in Editr app → Settings → Editing restrictions.

Order tags

Block orders based on their order tags. Useful for segmenting orders that shouldn’t be editable, such as wholesale, pre-orders, or subscription orders.
  • Click Select tags to pick from tags already in use on your store
  • Click Add custom tag to enter a tag that isn’t yet in use, for example for development stores or when setting up a new tag for a future workflow

Sales channel

Block orders based on where they were placed. Useful if you only want Editr to apply to one specific channel. Available channels depend on what’s installed in your store. Common options include Online Store, Point of Sale, and Shop.

Fulfillment location

Block orders based on the location fulfilling them. Useful when certain locations have different fulfillment processes that don’t support mid-process changes. Click Select fulfillment locations to choose from your store’s locations.

Shipping country

Block orders based on where they’re being shipped. Useful when certain destinations carry higher fraud risk or need manual review. Click Select countries to choose one or more countries to restrict.

Fraud risk level

Block orders based on Shopify’s automatic fraud risk assessment. Useful for catching potentially fraudulent orders before customers can manipulate them. Risk levels you can block: High, Medium, Low, Pending, None. Select all levels you want to block. If none are selected, orders with any risk level can be edited.
