# Restocking inventory

> Return items to your available inventory when customers reduce or cancel their orders.

The restocking setting controls whether items are returned to your inventory when a customer reduces quantities or cancels their order through Editr.

## How it works

When restocking is **on**:

* Cancelled orders, reduced item quantities and item removals return items to inventory

When restocking is **off**:

* Inventory isn't automatically adjusted but you can still manually restock items via your Shopify admin

## Which location is restocked

Inventory returns to the original fulfillment location for each item on the order. For multi-location stores, stock goes back to where it came from, not to an arbitrary default.
